How to Buy PLS

How to Buy PLS

Last Verified: June 30, 2026

This guide covers how to acquire PLS, PulseChain's native asset. Because PLS is not listed on major exchanges, acquiring it involves different routes than many crypto assets. This guide maps those routes, their trade-offs, and the specific friction points new users encounter.

Prerequisite: Before PLS is useful, PulseChain must be added to your wallet. If you have not done this yet, start with Add PulseChain to MetaMask first.

On this page: Before You Buy · Where PLS Is Available · Acquisition Paths · What to Verify Before Sending Funds · Common Mistakes · FAQ · What's Next

Before You Buy

Two prerequisites should be in place before choosing an acquisition path.

Your wallet must have PulseChain configured. PLS exists on PulseChain, not Ethereum. A standard Ethereum wallet without PulseChain added will not display a PLS balance even if you receive some. See Add PulseChain to MetaMask for the verified setup steps.

Understand the bootstrap problem before choosing a path. PulseX and Piteas are PulseChain DEXes that require PLS for gas to execute swaps. This creates a circular dependency: you need PLS to buy PLS on a DEX. The acquisition paths below are organised around this: some platforms solve the bootstrap problem by delivering PLS directly without requiring gas first; others require you to already have some PLS.

The PulseChain Bootstrap Problem PulseX and Piteas require PLS for gas. New users arriving on PulseChain with bridged assets but no PLS cannot execute any swap until they obtain PLS through another means. If you plan to use PulseX or Piteas, acquire an initial PLS balance first via Liberty Swap, ProveX, or Rampnow. (In Ghost: format as a callout block)

Where PLS Is Available

PulseX (app.pulsex.com): The primary AMM DEX on PulseChain. Deepest liquidity, verified live, no core contract exploits since launch. Requires PLS for gas.

Piteas (piteas.io): DEX aggregator routing across multiple PulseChain liquidity sources including PulseX for best execution. Requires PLS for gas for core swaps. Also integrates fiat and crypto on-ramp paths via Rampnow and ChangeNow.

Liberty Swap (libertyswap.finance): Intent-based cross-chain protocol listed on pulsechain.com among recommended acquisition options as of this page's research date. Gasless mode covers gas costs; delivers supported PulseChain assets, including PLS where available in the interface, from Ethereum and other chains without requiring prior PLS. Solves the bootstrap problem.

ProveX (provex.com): P2P ZK fiat on-ramp listed on pulsechain.com among recommended acquisition options as of this page's research date. Delivers directly to a PulseChain address via peer-to-peer payment methods listed in the ProveX interface. Beta status: verify availability before use. Solves the bootstrap problem. No central KYC on the protocol; payment app compliance applies separately.

Rampnow (rampnow.io): Regulated fiat on-ramp (Polish VASP) listed on pulsechain.com among recommended acquisition options as of this page's research date. Supports multiple fiat payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer, and SEPA. KYC applies. Delivers PLS directly to a PulseChain address. Solves the bootstrap problem.

0xCoast (0xcoast.com): Non-custodial fiat on-ramp and off-ramp built specifically for PulseChain. Supports ACH, wire transfer, Zelle, Revolut, and Old Glory Pay. KYC applies. Has a banking relationship with Old Glory Bank. Available in all 50 US states. Solves the bootstrap problem.

Acquisition Paths

Path 1: Starting from Fiat

Best for: users with no existing crypto who want to go from fiat directly to PLS.

Option A, Rampnow: Regulated on-ramp with KYC. Broader payment method support (SEPA, Google Pay, cards). Delivers PLS directly to your PulseChain wallet.

Step 1: Navigate to rampnow.io from a verified, bookmarked source. Step 2: Complete the KYC process if required. Step 3: Select PLS on the PulseChain network as the asset to receive. Step 4: Enter your PulseChain wallet address and complete the fiat payment. Step 5: Verify the balance on the official PulseChain explorer at https://ipfs.scan.pulsechain.com.

Option B, ProveX: P2P ZK protocol, no central KYC on the protocol. Supports peer-to-peer payment methods listed in the ProveX interface. Beta status: verify current availability before use.

Step 1: Navigate to provex.com from a verified, bookmarked source. Step 2: Initiate a purchase. Send the fiat payment via your chosen payment app. Step 3: The ZK proof confirms the payment and releases PLS to your PulseChain wallet address. Step 4: Verify the balance on the official PulseChain explorer.

Option C, 0xCoast: Non-custodial fiat on-ramp with a direct banking relationship via Old Glory Bank. KYC applies. Supports ACH, wire transfer, Zelle, Revolut, and Old Glory Pay. Available in all 50 US states. Delivers PLS and other PulseChain assets directly to your wallet.

Step 1: Navigate to 0xcoast.com from a verified, bookmarked source. Step 2: Complete the KYC and account setup process. Step 3: Fund your account via your chosen payment method. Step 4: Purchase PLS and confirm delivery to your PulseChain wallet address. Step 5: Verify the balance on the official PulseChain explorer.

Bootstrap problem: not applicable on any of the three options. All deliver PLS directly to your wallet.

Path 2: Starting from Existing Crypto (ETH or Other Chains)

Best for: users who hold ETH or other assets on Ethereum or other chains and want to move onto PulseChain.

Liberty Swap (libertyswap.finance) is an intent-based cross-chain protocol that lets you specify the asset you want to receive on PulseChain. You send ETH or other supported assets; Liberty Swap delivers supported PulseChain assets, including PLS where available in the interface, to your PulseChain wallet. Gas costs are covered by the protocol via gasless mode.

Step 1: Navigate to libertyswap.finance from a verified, bookmarked source. Step 2: Select your source asset (e.g., ETH on Ethereum) and destination asset (PLS on PulseChain). Step 3: Enter your PulseChain wallet address as the destination. Step 4: Confirm the transaction on your source chain. The protocol handles the cross-chain execution. Step 5: Verify the PLS balance has arrived on the official PulseChain explorer.

Fee: a 0.3% protocol fee was displayed in the interface as of this page's research date. Verify current fees before transacting.

Bootstrap problem: not applicable. Liberty Swap's gasless mode covers gas costs and delivers PLS directly.

Path 3: Swapping on PulseChain (Requires PLS for Gas)

Best for: users who already hold PLS and want to acquire other PulseChain assets, or users who have solved the bootstrap problem via Path 1 or 2 and now want to trade.

PulseX (app.pulsex.com): The primary AMM DEX with the deepest liquidity on PulseChain. Direct AMM model; every swap contributes to PLSX buy-and-burn mechanics, while INC serves as the incentive token distributed to liquidity providers.

Piteas (piteas.io): DEX aggregator routing across multiple PulseChain liquidity sources for best execution and lowest slippage. Useful once you hold PLS and want optimal swap rates across the full PulseChain liquidity landscape.

For both: you must hold PLS for gas before executing any swap. If you do not yet have PLS, complete Path 1 or Path 2 first.

What to Verify Before Sending Funds

For fiat on-ramps (Rampnow, ProveX): Confirm you are using the correct URL navigated from a bookmark. Confirm the destination asset is PLS on the PulseChain network. Verify the balance has arrived on the explorer before sending larger amounts.

For Liberty Swap: Confirm the URL is libertyswap.finance navigated from a verified source. Review the trust model before moving significant assets.

For PulseX and Piteas: Confirm you are on the PulseChain network in your wallet before connecting. Verify token contract addresses on the official explorer before swapping unfamiliar assets. Confirm you hold sufficient PLS for gas.

For all paths: Check the balance has arrived on the official PulseChain explorer (https://ipfs.scan.pulsechain.com) before taking further action.

Common Mistakes

Attempting to swap on PulseX or Piteas without PLS for gas. The bootstrap problem. Use Path 1 or Path 2 to acquire initial PLS before attempting any PulseChain DEX swap.

Sending ETH directly to a PulseChain wallet address. Ethereum and PulseChain are separate chains. ETH sent to a PulseChain address does not arrive as PLS and does not automatically bridge. Use the PulseChain Bridge Guide for the correct bridge process.

Confusing Ramp.network with Rampnow. Ramp.network does not support PulseChain or PLS. The correct platform is Rampnow at rampnow.io. Verify the URL before initiating any transaction.

Not testing ProveX before committing larger amounts. ProveX is a P2P protocol. Test the process with a small transaction before committing larger amounts.

Interacting with fake acquisition sites or airdrop offers. Phishing sites offering free PLS or fake fiat-to-PLS flows are a documented attack vector. Navigate to all platforms from bookmarks rather than search results.

FAQ

Where can I buy PLS? On PulseChain directly: PulseX (DEX) and Piteas (aggregator) for users who already have PLS for gas. Without prior PLS: Liberty Swap (cross-chain from ETH, gasless), ProveX (P2P fiat, beta), Rampnow (regulated fiat on-ramp), or 0xCoast (US bank-integrated on-ramp). These are among the primary verified acquisition paths within the PulseChain ecosystem as of the research date for this page.

Do I need PLS before I can use PulseX? Yes. PulseX requires PLS for gas to execute swaps. If you do not yet have PLS, use Liberty Swap, ProveX, or Rampnow to acquire an initial amount first.

Can I buy PLS with a credit card or bank transfer? Rampnow (rampnow.io) supports card, SEPA, and Google Pay with KYC. ProveX (provex.com) supports P2P payment apps including Venmo, Zelle, Wise, Cash App, and Revolut without central KYC. Both deliver PLS directly to a PulseChain wallet.

What happens if I send ETH to a PulseChain wallet address? ETH and PulseChain are separate networks. ETH sent to a PulseChain address does not automatically arrive or convert. Confirm the network before initiating any cross-chain transaction.

Which route is best for a beginner? This page does not recommend specific paths because the right choice depends on what you are starting with. Starting from fiat with no crypto: Rampnow is the most straightforward regulated option. Starting from ETH: Liberty Swap is the most direct route to PLS without the bootstrap problem. Each path's steps and friction points are covered above. The safest route is the one whose mechanics you understand before sending funds.

Are there tax implications when buying PLS? Tax treatment of crypto asset purchases varies by jurisdiction. This guide covers mechanics, not tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional in your jurisdiction for guidance.
